Safeguarding

At Jigsaw Preschool the health, safety and welfare of all children and staff is of paramount importance.

Children in our care have the right to protection regardless of age, race, gender, culture, background or disability.

They have a right to be safe in our setting.

Staffing

Enhanced DBS checks and reference checks are carried out on all personnel whether paid or voluntary.

Children at the Preschool are never left unsupervised. There is always a minimum of two members of staff on site at all times.

All staff are trained and work in line with Somerset Safeguarding Children’s board procedures and protocol.

Security, policy and confidentiality

Security

We have measures in place to ensure that no unauthorised person enters our premises and all visitors are asked to sign the visitor’s book and are accompanied around the building.

Policy

Copies of all our Policies and Procedures, including safeguarding are available on request, they are also displayed in the foyer for parental viewing.

Confidentiality

Confidently is crucial to all our relationships but the welfare of the child is paramount. The law does not allow anyone to keep concerns relating to child abuse to themselves.

All information collected on a child is kept a locked cabinet and only accessed by the DSL and DDSL.
